In business you hear a lot about synergy. Well let me share with you about synergy within the ministries of Campus Crusade. What do you get when you team up Impact XXI, the Global Aid Network, Athletes in Action, Here’s Life Inner City, and some key Christian Businessman? You get Lift Up America.
In 2004 two team owners, Tyson chicken, Ty Inc. and the Crusade organiztions mentioned above distributed 74,000 pounds of frozen chicken and 20,000 teddy bears to people in need in 2 cities. This trial run took place in Miami and Kansas and was a huge success.
This year Lift Up America will be doing it again, but not in 2 cities. This year it will be 21 cities! It’s going to be awesome.
Visit the site for lots more information and a video from last years event in Miami.
A bit back Hugo Chavez accused New Tribes missionaries of all kinds of things, ranging from living in oppulence to being CIA operatives. He expressed a desire to see them removed from the country. I’ve read today that the New Tribes staff have been officially asked to leave tribal areas.
They have not been asked to leave the country but certain parts of the country where they minister. They have been given 90 days to comply.
New Tribes has 160 staff in Venezuela, including about 30 Venezuelans. Please pray that they would be able to continue working in their chosen areas of ministry. Back in October indigineous peoples protested against this move, as New Tribes provides many essential services to these people. More information is also available at the New Tribes web site.
In 1969 Bailey and Elizabeth Marks went to Singapore to begin a Campus Crusade for Christ ministry. That movement has grown and now sends out staff to minister in other Nations. You can go to the Singapore C.C.C. web site and see more about their history and what God is doing there.
Here’s a little snippet of some of the great stuff on the site.
“Learning about Jesus is a process. If Rayson [student disciple] and Likai [Campus Crusade staff] did not lead me one step at a time, I would not have received Christ.” –Zhang Jie, 20, mainland Chinese student in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He received Christ after attending six weeks of evangelistic Bible Study on campus.

A few weeks ago I upgraded the software that we use for our web site. It allowed for a nicer design, but I had a few things to learn before I could get it how I wanted it. Of course that kind of thing is never truly finished. But hopefully, if you read here on any kind of regular basis, you will find the site to be better organized and easier to read.

I was told by a friend, who has been with Crusade for over 20 years, that being past 70% means we are ‘almost there’. And we are pretty excited and feel very blessed. God continues to confirm that we are headed in the direction that He wants us to go.
Our pastor said this morning, “Where God guides, He provides.” And we are seeing the truth of that in our lives right now.
(On a side note, if you attend Bethany and didn’t get to hear today’s message, I highly recommend picking it up on tape or CD, it was another great sermon from Pastor Dave. If you don’t go to Bethany- but still want to hear some great messages, go to http://www.bethanybiblechurch.org/pages/streaming.html)
